School districts often have many questions about setting up and maintaining their Renaissance Place Real Time software. Renaissance Learning has tried to be as flexible as possible in accommodating the needs of those districts. Below is a list of ways you can import and export data, as well as communicate with other third-party vendors.

The Renaissance Data Translator (RDT) allows you to import your historical desktop software into Renaissance Place Real Time including students, courses, classes, and test scores. Just send your previous data folder to us and we'll complete this for you. This is an import per school and is included with Renaissance Place Real Time. This method allows you to perform a file import at the start of the school year from your Student Information System (SIS) data into Renaissance Place. It needs to be in a specific format with column headings. It will handle inserts only of students, courses, classes, enrollments, usernames and passwords. It will not update or delete records. Many districts have schools that are utilizing their own school level Renaissance Place Real Time site prior to a complete district level implementation. We will work with the district and school to schedule and complete merging this data into a consolidated district level site so that all schools are combined. This is included at no additional cost when purchasing Renaissance Place Real Time.
We offer two distinct types of automated data integrations to assist districts that want a hands off solution for maintaining student and teacher enrollments in their Renaissance Place Real Time site. You can purchase either of the automated integration services below or change from year to year at no additional cost. Custom programming is used to tie your SIS or extracted data into Renaissance Place Real Time on an automated basis. Most customers will run nightly to avoid missing data that can happen with weekly or monthly runs. Any and all data transferred is over a SFTP connection or over an SSL/HTTPS port 443 connection. Renaissance Learning can automate data extracts for an affordable price per product per hosted site. They can be customized to the data that you need and formatted to fit your specifications. The extracts can be school or district based and will be transferred to a SFTP site nightly at a specified schedule allowing you to download in an automated fashion. Renaissance Learning can utilize the services of a Single Sign On with the support of your district to alleviate the need of remembering multiple usernames and passwords for given users. The SSO can work with Active Directory, Portals, Open Directory, Sharepoint, and other platforms as you see fit. Year one includes time for Setup, QA and Consulting on shared code streams. Renaissance Learning can generate custom specific reports if there is a need to look at data in a level the software currently does not support. We build it to your needs going through the process of Analysis, Design and Implementation to meet the specifications you desire.
