What if the funds you were working so hard to obtain were already available in your budget? Starting at Step 2—Existing Budget Funds—is the quickest and easiest way to secure the funds you need. In fact, 60% of schools fund their purchases of Renaissance Learning products using existing budgets! This is why it pays to investigate what you might already have.
Here are a few budgetary sources common to most schools and districts. They’re "easy solutions" because it won’t take you long to look into each of them and determine whether they will be a source for you.
- ESL Funds
- General Operating Budget
- Gifted and Talented Programs
- Library Budgets
- Parent Organizations
- Professional Development Training Funds
- Response to Intervention (RTI) Funds
- Special Education Funds
- Technology Funds
- Title Funds
Since you may not know which of these funding options exist in your school or district—let alone which ones will work for you—it's best to do research prior to approaching anyone about funding. Information on these programs can be found on state, district, or school Web sites and at www.ed.gov.
