Marilyn Howard, Ed.D., last served as Idaho's 23rd state superintendent of public instruction before retiring in 2006. She was a K12 teacher for 28 years, school principal for 10 years, and past president of the Idaho Council of the International Reading Association. Howard also served as a teacher trainer and adjunct instructor for Idaho State University and the University of Idaho, as well as teacher trainer for Idaho Education Association's Mobile Lab. She holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instructional Science.
