Close the Achievement Gap—Simple Strategies that Work
The achievement gap is about poverty, race, expectations, teacher quality, parenting, and test bias. But ultimately, it is about literacy and learning. This workshop is designed for educators who are looking for proven strategies to help close this gap in their school or district. In this highly interactive session participants will explore six simple strategies used by schools that are getting positive results in student achievement for all learners.

Great Books, Great Libraries
For librarians and other book lovers, the best part of Accelerated Reader is the opportunity it offers students to read lots and lots of great books! This interactive workshop, geared toward advanced issues in librarian program support and development, will include book-talks on current popular titles in children's and young adult literature, discussion of current trends in school librarianship, and an opportunity to share tips and tricks and connect with other colleagues in the profession. We will explore ways to collaborate with teachers and administrators, and involve parents in creating a strong Accelerated Reader implementation. Participants will leave with a wealth of ideas that are motivational, practical, and fun!

inFormative Assessment: When It's Not About a Grade
Changing the focus of formative and summative assessment from creating a final grade or score to gaining insights that guide instruction has a positive and powerful impact on student performance. This session is designed to provide K-12 educators with easy-to-implement tools and strategies that can be applied in their classrooms immediately to inform instruction.
