Renaissance Place contains many exciting new features and improvements based on customer feedback.
- Renaissance Place 4.1 now supports SQL Server 2005 Express Edition for those customers who have chosen a custom install and fall within the limitations of express edition.
- Renaissance Place 4.1 will be School Interoperability Framework (SIF) 2.0 certified for any customer wishing to take advantage of the latest SIF agent.

- The Import/Export functionality has been enhanced to allow you to select your matching criteria prior to the import, ensuring only appropriate students are automatically merged. In addition, a merge candidates list is created for any students who are not exact matches but have some matching information.
- You can now permanently remove students and their records from the Edit Multiple Students page. This is helpful to remove students who have graduated or are no longer enrolled in your district, just be sure future access to their data is not required as this feature will remove the students' personal information as well as any application data from the Renaissance Place database!

- No new features were added to Dashboard for this release.
|
- Renaissance Home Connect 2009 now includes the Math Glossary and Worked Examples in the Math Tab.
- References to Accelerated Math, Accelerated Reader and MathFacts in a Flash were removed from the Informational Letter Report.

- All consolidated reports will now show all students enrolled in an active application class on all reports regardless of whether a student has data. For example: If you select to run an Accelerated Math report listed by class it will only list Accelerated Math classes, not other application classes, and show all students within those classes with or without data.
- To help you determine the state of a student's data, we have implemented consistent rules across reports. If there could not possibly be any data, that column will be blank. If the student/group has no data at the time the report was run, but they are enrolled in the class, the report will show a single dash "-". If there has been activity, but nothing passed, the score will be zero "0". Students with a blank or "-" will not be counted in totals, averages or means, but students with "0" will.
- All reports will show Kindergarten data; however, the Percentile Rank (PR) and Normal Curve Equivalent (NCE) in STAR Reading will always be a blank since these scores are normed scores and are not available for Grade K.
- All reports now include an option to print report options.
- The Accelerated Math calculation, '% of Objectives Mastered' was changed to 'Objectives Mastered Per Week.'
- Renaissance Learning has teamed with the Council of Chief State School Officers and 10 states to study the statistical link between STAR Reading and STAR Math and state summative tests in more depth. To provide a practical application of the statistical results, we have added three new STAR proficiency reports. The STAR Performance report was added to provide district and school administrators using STAR Reading or STAR Math as interim tests a way to determine the student performance outlook on the state test. This report is available through the Consolidated Reports link and will only run for administrator logins. It is not available to teachers. There are also Student and Group Performance reports available in the STAR Reading and STAR Math applications.
All three reports are state specific and are only available to customers in states participating in the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO)/Renaissance Learning R&D consortium project. These reports will be provided to customers once the technical linking study is complete and signed off by all appropriate parties in each participating state.
