If you use Renaissance Place™ with the Accelerated Reader™ Enterprise Edition, you will have access to Home Connect™. Schools or districts can grant access to Home Connect by sending a letter generated through the Home Connect tab in Renaissance Place, which contains the necessary login information. Home Connect allows students and their families to log in from home to monitor Accelerated Reader progress and:
- View goals, results of the last quiz taken, and overall progress for both Reading Practice and Vocabulary Practice Quizzes
- View My Words Learned based on Vocabulary Practice Quizzes
- Find books of interest and at the right level that have AR™ Quizzes via AR BookFinder™
- View My Bookshelf which shows the books read and on which quizzes have been taken
- Specify up to six email addresses of parents, guardians, or relatives, each of whom will receive updates of student progress via email

Accelerated Reader 7.5 gives you the option of using an alternate book level (Alt. BL). Alt BL 1 is based on a 100-point scale similar to DRP. Alt. BL 2 is based on a 2,000-point scale similar to Lexiles.
The reporting option offers further support to those using other reading measures additional to conversion charts, 100-point scale (Alt. BL 1) and 2,000-point scale (Alt. BL 2) book labeling in AR, and the ability to search by a 2,000-point scale available in AR BookFinder (arbookfind.com).
To set the alternate book level in the Accelerated Reader Management program, choose Manage Quizzes from the Accelerated Reader tab, then select Book Level Settings under the Actions area.

The following reports will include report options for alternate book levels:
Diagnostic Reading Practice
Favorite Books Goal History

Spanish Recorded Voice (RV) Quizzes are for beginning and emergent readers who speak Spanish. They are well suited for English Language Learners (ELLs) to support native language development as they are transitioning to English and generally cover books that are at book level (BL) 4.0 or lower. A professionally recorded native Spanish speaker reads quiz questions and answer choices as they appear on the screen. Every title with a Spanish RV Quiz also has an English RV Quiz, allowing you to use the text that is most appropriate to each individual student.
To see the list of titles, go the Quiz Store and do an advanced search on RV quiz type + Spanish language.
Students can now take Reading Practice, Vocabulary Practice, and Other Reading Quizzes on the NEO 2™ and print off TOPS Reports.
Schools that use AR™ on NEO 2 will not need to make any changes to AR Renaissance Place to support this device. Click here to learn more about AR quizzing on NEO 2.
If you use Enterprise, you can access a Web page to order your textbook-aligned quizzes.
Once the Textbook Quizzes are installed, they can be viewed and searched in the Manage Quizzes > Other Reading section. |
