A refresher course is held for teachers before school starts so everyone is ready on the first day. I coordinate the STAR testing. AR and AM folders are issued that contain logs, previous school year reports, and library card. A student refresher is held during the first visit to the library. ZPD ranges and goals are explained. New students are paired with a veteran buddy. Teachers set intermediate goals to help students focus on the small steps, not just the big picture.
