Are there special requirements for emerging readers?
The at-risk and class average percent correct requirements are the same as any other class. The key difference is in the median point requirement. The points for emerging readers in Kindergarten should be at or higher than 100% of the Certification Point Goal Chart. The points for emerging readers in first grade should be at or higher than 100% of the goal-setting chart. Please note that emerging readers in Master Classrooms must be quizzing individually (under their own name). Books and quiz questions may be read to the student, but the student must choose the answers on his or her own.
