Should I include special education or resource students on my reports?
Yes, if you assign them their reading grades. Sometimes special education or resource students are marked at risk for low points earned because they are reading at a significantly lower level than the rest of the class. We recommend that you indicate special education or resource students on your reports. If they are earning the points indicated on the Certification Point Goal Chart at their individual reading level, their points earned will not affect your certification.
